Weekender Rules and Fees Policy

SHERIFF’S OFFICE POLICY

  • Cash, money orders, certified/cashier checks payable to the Treasurer, City of Virginia Beach will be accepted for payment of these fees.

  •  Normal Office Hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Cash, money orders, certified/cashier checks will accepted  Monday thru Friday at the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, Building #7. 

  • Drop Box Hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The drop box is located in the lobby of Building #7 for depositing money orders, checks and certified/cashiers checks.

  • PLEASE PRINT NAME AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ON PAYMENTS.

Weekend payments may be paid weekly or in full.  Reminder-payment must be received on or before 4:30 p.m. Thursday before you report.

 

 RULES

1. All weekenders are subject to random drug/alcohol testing. Any person reporting for weekend incarceration who is found under the influence of DRUGS or ALCOHOL will be subject to arrest and appropriate legal action will be taken.

2. All weekenders must report to the Sally Port area of the Correctional Center at the time ordered by the court. Unless otherwise excused by the Sheriff, reporting after the time ordered by the court shall result in the revocation of the privilege of serving the sentence on weekends or non-consecutive days and the defendant being detained to serve the remaining balance of the jail sentence on straight time.

3. Must pay an amount to defray the costs of such non-consecutive incarceration. Unless otherwise excused by the sheriff, a person’s failure to pay the daily weekender and room and board fees shall result in the privilege of serving the sentence imposed on non-consecutive days being immediately revoked (Processing fee - $50.00, Weekender fees are now -$11.00 per day)
