Starting on June 1, inmates will no longer be permitted to receive greeting cards, postcards or photo prints in the mail. Visit vbso.net/inmate-mail for details.

Virginia Beach Courthouse update:

Starting Monday, May 18, the Virginia Beach General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District courts are resuming some hearings pursuant to their respective court orders. However, the Virginia Beach Courthouse remains closed to general public access through June 7 and only those on official business as outlined in the Judicial Emergency orders are permitted inside the building. VBSO COVID-19 response, closures and cancellations:

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office is taking every possible precaution to safeguard the health and safety of every person living and working inside the Virginia Beach Correctional Center. In consultation with health officials and federal, state and local leadership, we are closely monitoring the situation and taking proactive measures to reduce the potential for an exposure in the jail and courthouse.

On-site friends and family visitation for inmates at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center is CANCELED for the foreseeable future.
