File A Compliment Or Complaint

Compliment Instructions

The Sheriff’s Office strives to provide outstanding service to both the citizens of Virginia Beach and our visitors. Although most of what we do is considered “routine” or “part of the job,” there are times when a deputy or civilian may go beyond the call of duty.

To submit a compliment to say “thank you” or “job well done” to one of our deputies or civilians (or the Sheriff’s Office as a whole):

1. Fill out the attached compliment card and leave it with any employee. They will pass the card along to a supervisor. You may also mail the card to:

Compliment, Professional Standards Office
Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office
2501 James Madison Blvd.
Virginia Beach, VA 23456

2. Call us at 757-385-1971 and explain why you are calling.

3. Email your compliment to pso@vbso.net [include mailto feature]. Ensure the word “compliment” appears in the subject line of the email.

It would be helpful if the name of the deputy or civilian involved is included, but if the name is unknown, just tell us about the incident and we will attempt to find out who was involved. It would also be helpful to know where and when the incident took place.

We thank you for taking the time to recognize the services that the Sheriff’s Office provides to our community. We value your input as your safety is our first priority. A citizen’s compliment reinforces that we are providing the best service to the citizens of our community.
