Sheriff Holcomb Inaugural Easter Egg Hunt March 2024

VBSO to host Sheriff Rocky Holcomb’s Inaugural Easter Eggstravaganza

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office will host its first Easter Eggstravaganza for the community this Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Law Enforcement Training Academy, 411 Integrity Way.

The Easter egg hunt, for children 12 and under, starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch for children (while supplies last) at 11 a.m. provided by VBSO community partner Kroger. In addition to candy and eggs donated by Kroger, the Virginia Beach Council on Civic Organizations provided 2,000 candy-filled, plastic eggs from an Easter egg hunt the group had to cancel. We also will have cotton candy and popcorn for everyone.

Children and families will be able to take a photo with the Easter Bunny and color Easter-themed pages. Egg hunters are asked to bring their own baskets and be ready to search the fields of LETA for goodies, including one golden egg that contains a special prize. The Chrysler Museum of Art with Virginia Beach City Councilman Michael Berlucchi also donated glass eggs made at the museum’s Perry Glass Studio. Those eggs will be given to the hunt’s church volunteers.

“We are excited to welcome Virginia Beach families to our first Easter Eggstravanza at LETA,” said Virginia Beach Sheriff Rocky Holcomb. “The VBSO is all about connecting with the community and providing positive law enforcement role models for the next generation. We hope to see a lot of people ready to have some Easter fun with us.”

The inaugural Easter Eggstravaganza is part of ongoing community outreach efforts by the VBSO under Holcomb’s leadership, which included Sheriff Rocky Holcomb’s Inaugural Turkey Bowl in November 2023, which raised over $4,200 for Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ Beach Bags program. They also include Senior Safety Seminars, the Lunch with a Deputy program and more.
